I was going to mention that as well but have debated the pro vs. con of HOAs on this and other blogs many times… Luckily my HOA has been reasonable and it is easy to follow the rules while maintaining a nice area; however, next time I buy it will be non-HOA, even if my neighbor does decide to grow corn on the front lawn.
