I’m not sure exactly what his point is.
Is it that $1M does not buy the ultimate house in San Diego with all the amenities that people might want? I’d expect that to be self-evident.
Or maybe it’s back to my point about schools and that some $1M houses aren’t worth living in. It’s a bit ironic that it costs less to pay mortgage on a house in many good parts of the county, than to live in a paid-for house on Mt Helix (supposedly worth $1 million), with no mortgage or property taxes, and send two children to a good private school.
