Amusing. Just shows how indecipherable American culture and history must be to this Russian “scholar”.
While I am more pessimistic than most on this blog, I am like 99.999% of this country in knowing, not believing, that whatever problems we face as a nation, that we will come through it whole, and stronger for the experience.
Personally, I believe that America is the template for the world to follow for our growth in the 21st and 22nd centuries. It is in our embrace of multiculturalism, freedom of speech and thought, representative democracy and capital markets that gives us a constantly renewing populace and culture. Anyone counting out the United States because of our entry into the second Great Depression is foolish.
