It is not a standard house and we have computers and other things plugged in and running. In the summer the average bill has been 600. It drops down to the high threes and we use the fireplace instead of heat a lot of the time. It is not a condo. It is a house. I do not care if you believe me or not. You choose your life style and I choose mine, but the savings will be substantial. I do not want to be charged to put lines in in PB or somewhere else. Where I live they are already underground. I think SDG&E has been spreading the wealth for years. Why are you picking on me for going green? The sun is free except for the cost of the panels. The only issue I see is if a lot of people install solar, the energy vampire will raise the rates on the rest (which they have been doing consistently). I plan to use a lot of Christmas lights this year, but they will be LED’s of course! Why can’t you be happy for me Brian?
I’m happy for you, Aecetia! 🙂
Good for you for installing solar panels. We’re planning to do the same if we ever end up buying a house. It’s ridiculous not to have solar panels in Southern California, IMHO. It should be mandatory for all new builds (as well as rainwater harvesting and grey water recycling).
