A couple of my kids have been playing soccer at the local club for the past few years. I overheard one of them discussing his math MAPS score with his teammates while juggling the ball during warmup.
A friend of mine coaches soccer at one of the Chula Vista clubs – he says he never heard his players talk about test scores. The Chula Vista club regularly beats the local club . If you want your kids to be great soccer players move to Chula Vista.
But there is really not much difference wrt academic and cultural aspirations of parents and children living in the neighborhoods you are contemplating.

For us, the ability to walk home from school is significant, if unplanned benefit of living where we do. Both parents have flexible schedules, but with three kids doing all kinds of activities early afternoon can get crazy.
