SAHDadism, is not “serious” as in bad, but as in affecting or being an effect of social norms changing more than someone cross dressing. Same thing for women on combat ships.
This guy doesn’t change anything compared to women being on combat ships, or heaven forbid, being president of a violent nation.
I think men and women should die in war equally. Why should women play it safe and stay home and work? Oh yes, men are still more disposable, now that is sexist and archaic.[/quote]
There are many things changing norms, and there always will be. I think you are correct that changing the way one dresses does not really have any lasting impact, when compared to SAHDism, or which bathroom a women has to use on a combat ship. But I would say that there are many more significant things than a dad staying home instead of mom. How about gay marriage and two dad/mom households? How about mixed race families? In retrospect your generation made a much larger impact with dual incomes; which led to the creation of latchkey kids, increased the prices and sizes of homes, and increased discretionary spending with their greed is good mentality. I think I remember seeing a bumper sticker on a Boomer’s car when I was a kid. Something about the person who dies with the most toys wins. I think this would probably sum up the Boomer generation best.
