The temps in Austin seem to be about the same, if not slightly milder than an El Cajon, Santee, or Ramona in the summer, but colder in the winter.

They get more rain which breeds all kinds of critters, including Deer, Hogs, and Turkey for hunting. The Fishing is all fresh water, so the comparison to San Diego’s inshore fishing is a hard trade off.
