. . . San Carlos is way too far for working in La Jolla.
Scarlett, why don’t you or Rhett clock it by going out there before 7:00 am one morning and driving in taking SR-52?
I was wondering about this also but it would be interesting to see if it was 30 mins or less to the UCSD area, door to door. It very well might be if the Golden Triangle area can be navigated thru timely.
San Carlos is very well-established and NOT a fire-prone area. I haven’t looked at recent sold comps but $350 – $375K seems to be a good price for this property (barring any structural defects), considering it already has (likely $15-$20K) new windows and doors installed.
Why don’t you at least do a drive-by? You have nothing to lose besides a little gas by going out there this weekend :=)
Sure, there are many places within 30′ from La Jolla at NON-RUSH hour – and I am not looking in those. Carlsbad was one of those. We would not be able to swing our schedules that much all the time. We’ve tried now, when we are close to work, and it doesn’t quite work out well – since I may go in early but people who I need to talk to/meet favor a later schedule. This particular home (which may be a good deal, but it doens’t appeal to me and it’s too small anyway) in San Carlos is about 20 miles from work, and Google puts the drive time just around 30′. That is at non-rush hour. 52 backs up horribly at rush hour, I have experience with that. So it’s double that.
Another minus – it’s probably much hotter than UC and PQ.
