Marriage being just a word is kind of my point. It’s a word that many people associate some sort of moral or religious connotation to. “Civil Union” on the other hand is simply a legal classification. I feel that if the government took the word marriage out of the law and instead only granted the legal status of a civil union, people on both sides wouldn’t have anything to fight about. If you want to be married, you should find a church, and you would be free to find whatever church recognized your view of what a marriage was.
