I was looking at Rancho Penasquitos, Calle Cristobal, Park Village, etc., because they were in the middle. I need to commute to Rancho Bernardo – and I would travel against traffic both ways from this area, and we can still get to UCSD relatively easy even during rush hour.

Thanks for the information. Scripps Ranch looks very nice but the commute to UCSD would be too much. Will keep looking for a nice rental to tide us over, and let my house profit earn all that interest (sarcastically said) until the prices come down some. I have a friend who is out there looking to buy in CV also, and most of the sellers are not budging too much from their list price just yet.
