Unemployment is skyrocketing and will be 8%+ in 2009. High-end wage earners are losing jobs. Some anecdotal evidence here: I am trying to fill a software engineering position (six figure). Recieved 5 resumes this week. All of them from Carlsbad and Oceanside. Biotech mostly.
I can concur with the High-end wage earners losing their jobs. I am a software engineer that got laid off… from a defense firm in San Diego that I worked at for almost 17 years. One of the only ones that is presently doing lay-offs (they have done 3 layoffs this year). Is your job opening posted anywhere?? which firm? Would you like to make that 6 resumes??
