If we are just going to give the banks money anyway, why not build new long distance power transmission lines (cost=$200B) and just give the banks equity stakes in said company. Plumps up the balance sheet just as good as cash, given that they aren’t lending the cash.
These transmission lines would presumably allow development of the central wind fields and southwest solar fields.
BTW I am still waiting for some environmentalist to show a linkage between windmills > reduced wind speed > some environmental catastrophe (clouds fall out of the sky, or something)
