Unfortunately, the repub’s and their allies USE to be the part of financial moderation. Atleast they half heartedly attempted to be that party. Now they are the same big spenders they accuse the Democrats about, just about different issues. Plus, they can’t allow the system to breakdown, there is an election coming up and they will lose if they don’t hold it all together.

I am not a political junky, but I feel that we are watching the culture wars of the 1960’s reignited.
The issues being discussed are social in nature, not financial. As long as people think they are doing the right thing morally, they will ignor the finances.
