I’ve travelled pretty extensively in Asia and the family of five going to dinner on the family scooter isn’t uncommon. Or the live pig on the back. My favorite was the 6’x4′ tall piece of glass carried by the passenger as they weaved through traffic in Saigon City. Life goes on.

As a note, I’ve ridden a motorcycle for 20 years and (knock on wood) haven’t had a problem. 45 mpg. Comes out of the garage a lot more lately.
