Solar panels make sense on the house I just bought with perfect south exposure, nary a tree casts a shadow on the roof, and I am well into tier 4 without using any AC at all (but a lot of fans).

However, the house is arguably a tear down. I don’t plan to tear it down, but could see selling it in 5-10 years to somebody who wants to. It is an old single house smack in the middle of a lot zoned for 4 units near the beach.

I can’t find much info on (1) the cost to move an existing system to a new house (2) the “salvage value” of a solar system to a developer who is demolishing a house.
