For all those concerned about gays getting married in churches, rest your worried mind. Churches are not obligated to marry anyone. Many churches are very stringent requirements.
For example, some Catholic churches require that you be a parishioner for a minimum of a year. Any mission in San Diego falls under Catholic churches. You have to be accepted as a parishioner. If you’ve been divorce before, you have to get an annulment through the church, a rather lengthy process where you have to prove the marriage should never have occurred in the eyes of God. Then the Pope has to approve it.
I am certain that churches will indicate who they will allow to be members of their church.
On another note, if I were gay, it would be difficult to follow some of the belief systems of the church and I probably wouldn’t want to get married in one. Why any gay people would want to get married in a church is beyond me. It seems like an odd choice on their part considering their lifestyle and I don’t understand their reasoning on that.
I continue also to find it amusing when people pick and choose which parts of the bible they wish to follow, accept and agree w/while condemning others for not following other parts.
