I’m thinking of remodeling the entire kitchen – gutting it and replacing it with nice cabinets (with pull out drawers, lazy susans in the corner, etc), granite countertops and newer appliances.
Keep in mind that this is a small kitchen on a limited budget.
I’ve been looking at kitchen layouts, and different options in terms of appliances. I’m struggling a bit on if I want to install a dishwasher.
Personally, I love handwashing and since its a smaller condo will probably never have the volume needed to truly justify running a full load in the dishwasher. Seems a shame to buy a new dishwasher only to never/rarely use it just so it could follow with the home in the far distant resale. It would also be nice to have more storage space.
I’m weighing different options here: Option 1: Install a built-in dishwasher
– would probably force myself to use it in order to get my money’s worth
– probably more attractive for potential future buyers Option 2: Install the necessary hook-ups, but cover them with portable cabinetry
– potential future buyer could purchase their own dishwasher
– portable cabinetry could be on wheels so if a dishwasher was installed, you would still have some storage off to the side that would match the rest of the kitchen Option 3: Use portable cabinetry that will accommodate a future portable dishwasher
– do not install any hook-ups
– before potential future sale, purchase portable dishwasher
I know what option is best for myself, but what is preferred in the general Pigg-public?
