ParticipantThere are many manufacturers that have had this issue. Humans are involved in making cars, and whenever you have that mistakes will be made. I just hope they fix whatever the problem is.
I’m in the market for a new car, maybe this will bring down Toyota prices for a bit.

ParticipantA few years ago I bought those molded all weather floor mats(Weather-Tech) for my Tahoe. Last week I took the mat out to dump the dirt out and replaced it, it did the same thing, covered the accelerator. When I put it in reverse and tapped the gas it took off. I had plenty of space and was able to slam on the brakes. I would hate to have it happen on the freeway like that CHP and family.
