ParticipantWent by the new extension at the Temecula Mall, That place was hopping, but maybe at the expense of other eateries and bar’s. Costco was packed as usual.
Other than that it seems T.V. Biz is doing fairly OK to me, I go into Lowes and Home depot almost daily these days and they seem busy always and not giving many discounts at all.
(seems they know the home rehab biz is hopping in the T.V. as well and is a sort of captured customer base of sorts with the T.V. having the national home resale crown these days it seems).I know I am spending money (as much as I am trying not to).

ParticipantSlightly off the beaten path from Temecula, we had youth football sign ups in Fallbrook during the Avocado Festival this weekend.
It was interesting to note that the number of parents that are paying on the “layaway plan” (small deposit and pay the balance throughout the season) has skyrocketed. And we’re talking fairly affluent families here (families that, in years past, spent a lot of cash throughout the season on parties, pizzas and get togethers).
Anecdotal to be sure, but telling.

GuestAllan, do you think Fallbrook is getting hit hard because a lot of families are small business owners (many in real-estate related businesses)?
Almost every mortgage broker I know lives around there…
