I made the mistake of thinking that the Internet would make people better informed decision makers. I think that the Internet has given people like the Piggingtons’ access to tools to share data and ideas, and somebody with an open mind can take that and make an informed decision. The other 99% of the population still just goes with whatever they hear and read in the popular media, or what their friends and colleagues parrot from the popular media. Of course we know that Real Estate and related industries advertise heavily in the media, and the government wasn’t about to go on television and say that housing is a huge bubble, so it isn’t a surprise that this got extended so far.
I’m thinking it’ll probably always be like this.
