If you’re going to have children, condo is probably not the way to go. For the same money I’d get a real house with a real backyard even if it’s a bit older and in a less ritzy neighborhood. There are many 3br and even some 4br houses on sale in Poway and Mira Mesa for less than 400k.
3 bedrooms should be okay if you’re certain that you won’t have more than one child.
As a rule of thumb, if it’s listed for more than its early ’03 Zillow value, it’s overpriced.
