PPO,
‘luxury theater’??? Have you ever actually been to that Ultrastar??? That’s the cruddiest theater I’ve been to in two decades. There’s no pitch to the floor, so god forbid if your kids sit behind an adult, they won’t see the movie. If you need to go to the bathroom, you have to walk out of the theater and up the long and winding staircase, plan on missing 10 minutes of the movie. OH yeah, as far as housing appreciating over 50 years, that’s true since the fed inflates the money supply. Money sitting in the bank also always appreciates in 50 years, of course it’ll only be worth about 10% of what is was 50 years earlier.unbiasedobserverParticipantPPO,

Homes more affordable than renting.”
If you strip out 100% of the speculation of getting rich from RE (impossible at this point in time and probably always impossible in California- land of the get-rich quick real-estate tycoons), housing should always be cheaper than renting, why else would any man ever consider strapping a boat anchor around his neck?

March 9, 2009 at 10:09 AM in reply to: My girlfriend wants to buy a condo in north county. But what do the Piggs say? #362661unbiasedobserverParticipantI used to live by an adult fully supported by her parents who ‘worked’ for the family business so the rent and car could be paid for in a tax-deductible fashion. She used to brag about ‘her’ townhouse, one time I asked her what the HOA fee was, she didn’t have a clue but she said she would ask her daddy and get back to me. She was home 95% of the time IIRC.
