This can’t be true. We just filed my fiance’s FAFSA two weeks ago and she is 23 and her parents did not have to do a thing. She qualified for the max available for graduate loans. Perhaps it is different for undergrad?

She can fill out the FAFSA at anytime (online application makes it very easy) and they’ll respond to her within days for what loan amounts she can qualify for.

Just one week we did this with my fiance for her grad school loans.
