It is interesting that some businesses are raising their prices while others are lowering them. Walmart near me is even selling bottles of wine for $1.97. Got some great bargains at GTM the other day, while the drive in is now $8 a person, ridiculous! It amazes me that the parking lots at the malls are jam packed. Maybe i’m poorer than most but I still think houses and rents are astronomical, and I’m a San Diego native.
I won’t go to the Del Mar fair- not when it’s $12 to get in to spend more money. I think cash will be king for quite a few more years to come. Translation-things will get cheaper, food more expensive while interest rates take off and houses bust.moneymakerParticipantIt is interesting that some businesses are raising their prices while others are lowering them. There are somewhat significant differences between them. They are economy,value.preferred.and premiere. I use to have premiere and downgraded to preferred, I didn’t think I would notice the difference in speed but I did. Of course like anything once you get used to it, it seems fine. The majority of people have the preferred like I do because that used to be the only speed available when cox launched their high speed internet. There is a lot to consider, how fast your computer is, how much do you use the internet, how much do you upload (premiere has an upload speed of 1M) I believe the ping times are all the same, but I could be wrong. By the way I don’t think DSL can match the 2 top speeds Cox offers, and they are going to do another speed boost in July.

moneymakerParticipantOk, all good advice. But i stick by my advice to sit on the money for now. It’s like winning the lottery on a smaller scale of course. Pro’s advise the winners to not make any major decisions for like 6 months or so. I have seen too many empty store fronts to recommend going into the restaurant/deli business. Unless highly motivated with a lot of emotional investment do not start a business now. AS far as the stock market, I think now that the fed isn’t going to do any more lowering, the market will fall. Gold will rise accordingly, but it will take a few years. 6 months from now the direction of the economy will be more clear.

moneymakerParticipantI would not spend any of it on plastic surgery. We all age, just accept it and love yourself the way you are. I know it is a highly personal decision, everybody in my family except me has had it. I am so grateful that my wife is of the same mind, when I think about it she has a lot of great characteristics that compliment me. OK, so what to do, good question I had some money in a money market account but that doesn’t pay much anymore. I would suggest just hang onto it.
