Well, it certainly seems like that’s what is happening right now, and I don’t see a reason for it to stop any time soon. I’ve given up on the idea of buying a house for now. The idea of “investing” in what is clearly a game controlled very tightly by the house (the banks) is not to my liking. It’s like going to a casino that you know is run by the mob, where all the slots are rigged and every game is fixed.
I’ll keep renting…

While I am more pessimistic than most on this blog, I am like 99.999% of this country in knowing, not believing, that whatever problems we face as a nation, that we will come through it whole, and stronger for the experience.
Personally, I believe that America is the template for the world to follow for our growth in the 21st and 22nd centuries. It is in our embrace of multiculturalism, freedom of speech and thought, representative democracy and capital markets that gives us a constantly renewing populace and culture. Anyone counting out the United States because of our entry into the second Great Depression is foolish.

Mark HolmesParticipant
A little on these so-called investors: Around 1930-1931 many were urged to buy or invest in houses at “historically” low prices, and many did.
By 1932/1933 many of those buyers were on the streets and in soup lines…
My point, exactly, Paramount.
