The first thing I noticed after doing a Mapquest was that this house was right on the edge of the Cedar fire of 2003 where it scraped Poway. A number of houses in this very neighborhood were burned down; I don’t know if this one was.

CricketOnTheHearthParticipantI think it’s a real minefield out there in the rental market right now. I’ve been monitoring the Rancho Bernardo area, mostly condos since that’s close to my range, and it is amazing how many of these “rental condos” are in complexes that I know for a fact just converted in the past two years.
The biggest red flag to me is when the rental brags about the new granite countertops and stainless steel appliances… that’s when I’m sure it’s a flopped flip. Stuck flippers are never safe to rent from…
I would say a rental which was last purchased at or before 2002 would tend to be safe. Definitely take SD Realtor up on the offer– I know I will.

CricketOnTheHearthParticipantYou are claiming that 80% of Democrats make less than $19,000 a year? I doubt that.
That would mean that something like 20% of the country made less than that amount.
… then again, if that is true, can you blame them for voting to get a little of that gravy on their gruel?

CricketOnTheHearthParticipantMy friends who live in Julian just traded in their Toyota pickup truck for a Yaris. They are very pleased (gas bill instantly cut in half).
