You might want to check a site like apartmentratings.com. I believe you can search by zip and read reviews, some of which may mention the amenities. It’s a place to start, anyway.

CMcGParticipanttemeculaguy–
I’m with you. I listen to KOGO in the morning because for some strange reason — even though I’m in metro San Diego –that’s the only station that comes in clearly in the bedroom. As soon as I get in the car I turn on Handel.
I was the one who posted the comment re: Chamberlin and KOGO on Rich’s post regarding Chamberlin last week. His “Money in the Morning” minutes were suddenly gone from KOGO. I thought he had been fired. But he was back again today…still giddy.

CMcGParticipantMuggle–Bwahaha! I have to go to NYC twice a year. During the Seinfeld days, someone I do business with asked me if I wanted to go to the Soup Nazi. Huge line outside and it was mid-summer. I declined, fearing humiliation such as George experienced when he asked “Where’s my bread? Aren’t I supposed to get bread?” He was summarily dismissed FOREVER.
The Seinfeld episode I was referring to was the one in which George (probably, or it could have been Kramer?) went to a bank where…most of the details escape me…they promised to give you $100 or something if the teller didn’t greet you properly, such as “Hello! How may I help you?” George’s teller simply said “Yo!” Hilarity ensued.

CMcGParticipantMuggle and FSD–for complicated reasons, I need to go to B of A twice a month in person. There was a new teller today who didn’t even say “hello” (reminds me of an old Seinfeld episode). He was borderline surly. In the branch I go to, it’s mostly old upper-middle-class people who aren’t computer literate. Seems to me going into a teller job to get into higher management is a horrible idea. They will be dinosaurs, like most travel agents.

CMcGParticipantI went to Bank of America around 3:20 this afternoon (a small San Diego branch) and was shocked that there was no line at all (very unusual, especially for a Friday). After reading about the run on Countrywide Bank yesterday I was expecting there to be a lot of people transferring funds. But no one was even waiting on the couches to see a new accounts supervisor.
