Long ago, in my twenties, I dated a Scientologist. He was fairly high up in the org, I guess. Whenever I went to his house he was always dragging out a device that looked like two tin cans connected by wires, and asking me to — I don’t remember the term — submit to something like “deprogramming” me. I always refused. When he talked about Scientology, he got that blank cult-like stare in his eyes, otherwise, he seemed fairly normal. I do know he spent a lot of money on “courses.”

CMcGParticipantLooks like it’s gonna be $1,600 for a married couple. I’ll be paying down credit card debt.

I just think granite/stainless is a fad that is gonna last maybe three years more at the very most and then it will look dated. I’ve never had stainless in any house, but I have heard that fingerprints are much more visible. Maybe that’s not true? I’m not selling, but I do understand the Realtor speak that the colors in your house should as neutral as possible.
If I was selling, speaking about your original topic of upgrading, my house is gorgeous inside but has NO curb appeal. I live on a hillside and you have to climb stairs to get inside my single-story home. I know that’s a negative, but it is especially so because the outdoors stairs and handrails look like crap. That’s what I would like to fix if I had the money.
