this might sound dumb but take a flourescent light bulb or tube- kind of like what you would see in star wars and go outside at night near where you want to buy. see if the tube lights up. had a kid do this as a science project, there was enough energy around the power lines to actually light up the tube. if you are comfortable with your results- go for it.
