So am I understanding this. Most all of you who have answered this thread make over $150k and you can’t afford to buy a house, and if you are getting a rebate check, you are a loser? WTH. There is so much self-righteous BS floating on this site at present it is sickening. And Fat Lazy, can you be any more jaded?
Fortunately there is still enough good info on this site to keep coming back, but the there sure is a lot of condescending . And by the way, I am using my $1800 check to landscape my yard with drought tolerant plants from Andersen’s on La Costa. Sorry, if owning a home and excited about getting my rebate check makes me unwanted on this site.May 17, 2008 at 9:44 PM in reply to: What are you going to do with you’re gov. rebate check next month? #20671492024ParticipantSo am I understanding this. I like the fact that this site, while sometimes a bit chippy in the bearish direction really tries to help people out when they ask.
I found out that with the first 10 years interest only, I need to make extra principal payments to bring down the balance. Thus, the best call would be to invest the extra, and then begin the new schedule after 10 years assuming I am still in the same loan. (unlikely).Plus the 3018 figure included embedded taxes in case you were wondering why the math was off.
P.S My loan is with BofA. I really like the online tools they have, plus all my banking is now free, which is saving me about $240 per year in Wells Fargo charges.92024ParticipantThanks for the info everyone. So I agree when it was earlier stated that the quality was good. I really like the plan with the interior courtyard and guest room upstairs. Just epic. . I have looked at them all, and they seem to be the most attractive up there, but I have to dispute the earlier quote that this is the best views in SD. That might be true if there were not power line towers running directly through the canyon. Don’t they start in the low 1 million range?
