I’ve said before that housing would be hit twice:
1) Real estate bubble bust which leads to recession.
2) Employment recession that lengthen the housing downturn.
Remember that in the past a housing downturn would follow an employment led recession. This time have a housing recession, that caused a general economy downturn which brought unemployment, which leading to more housing pain.
Of course, the unprecedented government bailouts are providing some stability.

I was just looking at a couple Beverly Hills listings that make me want to move up there. $1.3M actually gets you a million-dollar home now.

This is the only property I’ve found in Beverly Hills between $1M and $1.5M: http://www.redfin.com/CA/Beverly-Hills/9401-Cherokee-Ln-90210/home/6834587. Is this the one you’re talking about?I assume Beverly Hills and Rancho Santa Fe have the same cache? Would you rather buy the Beverly Hills property above for $1.35M or these?
