This is a public service announcement for folks considering purchasing appliances using the cash4appliances rebate program…
Please note that in addition to the rebate from the CA rebate program DOUBLE CHECK WITH YOUR UTILITY COMPANY if they are concurrently running a rebate program too
(That’s SDGE for SD folks, and probably SoCal Eddison for LA folks…Sorry, don’t know about Riverside County)…
So for example, if you buy a fridge under the rebate program, CA is rebating $200.. and SDGE is rebating $25…In addition, CA rebates the delivery charge and the haul away charge)..
Please note also, that your utility company might offer a better deal if you choose them to haul away your old appliance than if you let the store do it.
For example, Sears charged me $10 to haul away, which the CA program will reimburse..However, if I left the fridge, I could have called SDGE to haul away and they would have paid me $50 for the haulaway (plus, I’d still be eligible for the $200 appliance credit)… I didn’t know about this, and conveniently Sears didn’t tell me either….
(another fine example of me screwing up recently)…Anyway, my loss is your gain (if 50 of you would donate $1 to my paypal account, I surely would feel better :))
