ParticipantActually I think discrimination happens all the time in the US of A.
I can recall at least two interview situations where I knew I would get the job because the other woman did not dress well, or look a certain way.
Age discrimination happens all the time, too. Employers just have myriad excuses for not hiring older people.
I refuse to comment on your weight discrimination comment. That is a terrible thing to say. I should report you to Oprah.

hahaha.. that was my attempt at a joke.
The point is weight discrimination is not illegal in America (age discrimination is illegal in USA but not in other parts of the advanced and developing world). Some airlines are talking about charging by weight. That makes economic sense because heavy passengers are more costly to fly.

ParticipantCorrect me if I’m wrong but the only protected categories are: Gender, Age, Ethnicity, Religion, Sexual Orientation.
I was on an interview team a few jobs ago. The only questions you were supposed to ask pertained to “Can and will they do the job.” Of course as humans the questions we really want to ask have relatively little to do with that.
Oh you can ask when someone graduated college, but not high school. It tend to date the interviewee!
