Veritas, everyone, even smart people, do dumb things. This is mine and I admit it. I only watch about 4 hours of t.v. a week plus certain sports which has a seasonal variation but I don’t know what room I’ll be in and I’m too lazy to record things so I have to max everything out in order to get all of it “on demand.” My last cable company didn’t have NFL network so I missed games, the laker games can come on five different channels depending on the game. I am a complete child in this respect, I want the game and I want certain anouncers so when I called for my t.v. connection, I just said give me everything, I never want my t.v. to say no to me. I have women in my life for that, I don’t need my t.v. to tell me “no.”

January 25, 2009 at 12:38 PM #335628Diego MamaniParticipantI have FiOS from Verizon. It runs about $170 for Internet, TV (no premiums), and phone (local only). It’s hard to dhop for these things b/c prices quoted don’t include the many taxes and fees that are added to the price. E.g., my “local” phone service was supposed to be $17, but then there is a $7 government charge, other fees, taxes, etc., so I pay about $30 for phone alone.
In my prior house I had DirecTV ($55), Time Warner Cable ($45), and Verizon phone ($35), TOTAL: $135. With FiOS I get better/faster Internet service, and better TV picture with on-demand features, but I’m not sure the extra $35 a month ($135 before vs. $170 now) is justified.

You pay $30 for local phone alone? Wow, you should definitely check out Vonage. I’m paying ~$22/month after all taxes and fees. I get free national calls and $0.01/minutes to a lot of international calls.January 25, 2009 at 12:47 PM #335983anParticipant[quote=Diego Mamani]I have FiOS from Verizon.
