It’s weird that I read this so differently than a lot of you.
The letter doesn’t really say much of anything. My read is “There’s a problem, there was some predatory lending, we’re going to have a hearing and decide what to do.”
I suppose that’s dissapointing if you want to hear “No! No bailout!” But I don’t think being openminded at this point is a bad thing for a Senator. I like politicians that want to study issues, take in data, and are willing to change their minds, rather than being a “Decider” and then “Staying the Course” no matter what.
The politician you described is EXACTLY what we have….its called "indecisive politics" ….those are typically the "weather vanes" of politics.
….I think your "wait and see" policy politician that you seem to like so much was "waiting and seeing" while this whole thing play out over the last 3 years …..Care to re-think your opinion ?
poorgradstudent, you are a good reader, thats exactly what she said, “we’ll wait and see.” The problem is that most of us have an interest in our leadership doing just that, leading. Telling people that they have to live with the consequences of their poor decisions is something that I am ok with. I wish my Senators were too.
