Do you know other CV complexes of townhomes where the largest plan is over 1650 sf?
I know so far Montemar,Pelagos,La Plage, Antares, Canyon Ridge. Any others?
Thanks!
Note: Antares is SFH, NOT a townhome. If you’re looking in Antares, you might as well look in Torrey Hills, places like Sausalito.
Cuation, some of these homes are much lower quality. you get what you pay for, sort of (no offense). I can speak, because I live in a craptacular stucco box here myself.

February 24, 2009 at 9:02 PM #354289CoronitaParticipant
I don’t get Andalucia. We went to see those with our realtor (we have been looking for a 2/2 condo in CV) and they, IMO, are a nightmare.
Cons: exceptionally tight garages – so tight no one uses them and parks in the open guest parking instead. Every space is full all the time, including the few on the street, it is very tight and crowded and it has the consequence that people wait like vultures for a spot to open up.
units are conversions from apartments. it shows. the “dual masters” are icky. very small bathrooms with poor quality.
floor plans are undesirable. three levels, tiny rooms, running up and down mini-stairs to do anything.
fantastically overpriced. but marketed as selling out quickly in 2007 after conversion.
Pros: great location. your own unit with neighbors only on sides, not up or down, cute elevations.
When we looked, our realtor thought that if you could get one <$400k, you could always rent it. I think we can do better.
Andalucia was a complex that was originally built meant to be sold, but then converted into apartments...And then subsequently converted back to a townhome. This was basically an owner that when against the grain of the market and well, i guess it sort of didn't work out the way. The 3 bed units are pretty decent. The other complex that is alright around this area is Halcyon (misspelled?) It's older, but decent floorplans, again nothing larger than 1550 sqft. Places personally i would stay away from: Del Mar Villas (condo convert, really craptacular condos imho) Pell Place (brand new construction with a lot of people underwater and the HOA is going to come to roost). The Heights (another condo convert). ....unless the prices fall ridiculously low. Carmel Pointe is another condo convert. Frankly, these aren't bad, except you don't get your own garage underneath your unit. It's right across the street from Crest at Del Mar. my opinion

I stand corrected! you are right. They felt like condos though, so crammed together they were. mea culpa.
