Considering the age and quality of the housing stock in MM, that is where the prices should be. I know, because I’ve been renting one for the past three years in MM.

With 20% down, you’re looking at mortgage around 4-500/month and renting it for 1600-1800/month. What more can you ask for. Even after the 1990 recession and massive job loss in SD, rents of a SFR was around 1000-1200/month.
