You’re right in every way about the community and I take it to heart. I absolutely see your point about the inherent turnover of a new community versus an established one. Our neighborhood was a new community at one point though no? Also, we are well established in SD with our family and friends…so it’s not quite like we are looking out for a new neighborhood for us…but more for our future kids, of which, I have no doubt they would find here now as well.
We’ve looked at just about every new community in the north county area in the last few months and, again, the only one that attracts us is Del Sur right now.
We did attend the phase release of Madiera last weekend of six homes, with only one that we wanted, which four others higher on the list wanted as well. It was an interesting experience…I kinda wanted to open up a dialogue with everyone there, the waiting list “black box” thing is very annoying. Three of the six openings were actually taken, while everyone else (ourselves included) deferred. I have a feeling that everyone is waiting for the phase that open with the row of homes that will literally sit in front of a park, with no street driveway in front of the home. But with 3 of their homes on the market right now, who knows when that will happen.
Now, my challenge is keeping the wifey patient and not settling for Bridgewalk or Pasado…as well as keeping our options open overall. It’s looking like six months at least before I say OK to a home right now.
