Thank you all! I completely understand the point of seller holding negative feelings, and believe me, if it’s a house we truly have to have, we don’t need any agent to tell us to offer more – we will do so on our own – because it’s so hard to find something you really love. But if it’s not, well, if we don’t get a good deal on a house that’s not quite “there”, well, there will be other houses…On the other hand we try to not get too emotionally involved with all the houses that fit our parameters :).
And truthfully, the lowballing indeed has to do more with the market. The prices may come down some in the future, so if we buy now, it better be pretty good.
