When I went back in April we flew into Manchester and then did a counter clockwise loop out through York, up the coast into Edinburgh then back down to Manchester.
We found that it wasn’t quite as expensive as we’d been led to believe. Many places you could get a pint for a pound or two. The most we paid was about 3 pounds which would be equivalent to the $5-6 we paid over here. We found most meals and other charges were similarly priced.
