I see a lot of “smart” people make some remarkably poor long-term decisions. I mentally describe those people as, “Uh, he tests well…”
“High raw intellect, but irrational” might fit better as a label. Most people seem to make irrational decisions in at least one or two areas of their lives (relationships, finance, etc.) Or maybe their method of weighting selection criteria is significantly different from mine. I, of course, am the perfectly rational standard by which to judge others.
