I said that I have never advocated that position because I, as an Asian American, am fully aware of what happened to the Japanese Americans in World War II and because of that I would never advocate that position.
I will be the first in line to defend anybody, especially muslims, if they will stand up with us Americans and fight the jihadists. If they believe in our core principles and fight with us, I will be more than happy to fight by their side.
However, that doesn’t make me blind to the things that the jihadists are saying. How do you expect to fight the jihadists if you don’t even understand them? When an attack occurs, the idea that their religious doctrine could be behind their attack is instantly dismissed. Is that the way to properly understand the motivations of people who want to attack us?
It would help if we could understand these facts instead of calling each other names and bigots. Once you do that, you can’t have a proper discussion.
