Lostkitty, layoffs happen almost always before Christmas, especially late Nov-early Dec. I have seen this happen many times over the 10 years I have been working (even during the go-go days of the late 90s). I work in the tech area (not IT). It’s all about balancing the books for the next quarter, and being able to take a “charge”. Depressing, but true.
