Let me get this straight: the chart shows that Obama and McCain’s tax policies are virtually identical until we get to 600K+. At that point, McCain’s tax policy is to give huge tax breaks to those making 600k+, essentially the wealthiest 1% of the country. Obama believes that those over 600K should have their taxes increased by a substantial amount.
As a country, we’ve run up the largest deficit in history, the dollar is at an all time low, and we’re spending $12billion a month in Iraq. Is this the right time for tax cuts for the wealthiest 1%?
The most amusing part is that many of those in favor of McCain’s tax policy remain staunch supporters of the occupation of Iraq. It’s “spend spend spend” while wanting less taxes at the same time. Real conservatives would roll over in their graves if they knew what Republican fiscal and foreign policy had become.
