I think you dissuaded me on the Ikea cabs. Not because they don’t look nice…they do, and nobody could tell on the boxes. But because of all the work that needs to be put into it. If I evaluate my time as money, Ikea could come out to the same price as some mid-range customs.
The whole sink talk is greek to me, as you saw me say, I’m not too handy with that kind of stuff, but I will bookmark this conversation and make sure I have the same discussion with my friends who will install.

No problem. Yes its the primary our cabin had the standard done on it without granite etc.. The gauge refers to the thickness of the steel in the sink. If you get a cheap 20 gauge and drop a cup you may harm it for life and you dont want a damaged undermount. Pain to remove and reinstall. The lower the gauge the thicker. Dont worry about being handy. If you can afford a mil plus home I am sure your other trade skills will make up for it 😉
