I feel your frustration, Mark. It’s beyond maddening at this point.
These sob stories are about folks who are almost always victims of their own poor judgement. Not sure why anyone should feel sorry for them. They are lucky to have the option of foreclosure — especially when few lenders are willing/able to come after them for the deficiencies.
Let’s call foreclosure what it is: a generous gift that enables people to unload their tremendous debt burdens while someone else eats their losses (should be the lenders, not taxpayers, BTW). Exactly why are they complaining????
