I dunno…I think the atheists detect an opportunity as more people become disenchanted with religion.
We’ve just had a decade of the Catholic church denying it participated in child abuse. We’ve had the Mormons fund the defeat of gay marriage. We’ve even had the church insert itself into the current medical insurance debate on the abortion issue.
There probably is a real opportunity here to have more people see the light – that God is just Santa Claus for adults….nothing more than a mirage.
