Filipinos are not Pacific Islanders. Filipinos are Asians. Only in California, that they are separate statistically to other Asians.
There’s a lot of arguments on the web (blogs/forums/etc.) regarding this topic so I’m not going to dwell on it. Look at it this way. Filipinos are closely related to Malaysians and Indonesians ethnically. Are Malaysians and Indonesians Pacific Islanders?
