bearishgurl: Thank you for the info. Marin county is very attractive, but colder than I am looking for. I want to walk out of my front door and be in 70’s weather instantly, 365 days a year. (I thought about hawaii but I’m not sure if I want to put up with the anti-haole feeling that is growing there). I’ve had enough of delayed gratification in my life. San jose would be good but I’m competing with the $$$ of silicon Valley for housing, an unnecessary expense. What about living in coronado between the commuter streets and the del, so that I am tucked into the neighborhood but close enough to walk to the village and the ocean? That was my impression of del mar as well. Having proximity to shops/ocean but tucked into a neighborhood that is safe, private and appropriate. I thought that la jolla might be the same way but most folks on this thread don’t seem to like the feel of living in la jolla. Rich as well. (the program, which was filmed in la jolla, “hooked on beauty” is exactly what I am trying to avoid.) Again, thank all of you for your expert info.
