Allan & Russel, if you have not read about what the Big Sur locals experienced during their mandatory evacs this past summer, you might find it interesting. Apparently it got pretty hairy for some folks who would not leave. They were not allowed off of their properties at all, if caught on the roads they were escorted out of the area. Meaning, they could not help as their neighbors houses burned.
